Last Day of Internship

Sorry I forgot to write yesterday. I was all in doing my presentation. I was not that nervous, but once I found out it was David Stahnke I kind of was back to being nervous because I never had him as a teacher and I never talk to him before, but I made it through. I mean it's kind of nice doing a presentation in front of people you don't know. Right? I don't know, I'm still thinking about my presentation. Well I really don't want to go back to school because I'm use of going to internship. Well that's all I have to say. Hopefully getting the last pictures I have from my mentor.

Final Internship

This is the last week of internship. I don't want to leave. I think once I return back to school it will feel kind of weird because we have to be there. One thing I am kind of waiting for when we come back to school is biology. I think that class might be cool with all the labs and everything else. I think next week when everyone sees each other all that week everyone is going to talk about their internship. Theirs going to be more talking. I don't like that. I'm kind of scared to go back to school. I use to waking up late and coming to internship, but now I have to wake up early and go to school.

Well yesterday was a very busy day I had store for two sites. And today we went shopping for me supplies for store. As for my project finding stores to donate I have not heard from any of them. So before I leave this internship I would have to call them to see if they got my letter and if they are willing to donate. I'm also doing some more research for more stores. Wish me luck.

Well I'm here at internship and today I had to come early that usual. Today is a short day I did little bit of work today. I started off with like a small project. Researching some pages of different things and organizing them for this small program they have here called Swimming Upstream. It's for girls that come after school and talk about things. After I organized all the binders, pens, rulers, etc. Than after that my mentor's assistance wanted Starbucks. So I went to Starbucks (just a block away) I'm leaving in about an hour because I got all my stuff done and I have nothing else to do until Monday. On Monday Sarah is coming and I don't know if I need to be there. I thought it's suppose to be a mentor and teacher thing.

INTERNSHIP

What are you thankful for in your internship experience?

I am thankful for this internship to show me how to pop my bubble, get out from my shell. As you know I'm quiet and don't like to communicate with others whom I don't know. I am also thankful for all the people here who appreciate having me here helping them out.

My week has been a slow one because we had no school/work on Monday. And Tuesday I had to come to school. Since I don't work on the weekends it's been four days since I have not been here at my internship. Today was not a busy busy day, but I believe that tomorrow would be. Right now I am still at my internship and I finished all my work I had to do and now I'm writing this blog. Today I had to first fax my time sheet than count books that someone donated to us, (so that we could send them a thank you letter) than went on the computer to check email, than that I got some supplies for the kids for this thing called store which the kids (with their fake money) buy things that we give to them, like binders, crayons, book, and etc. After I went to lunch (Panda Express) and than I did some filing and than I'm here writing.

Well that's all. I'm leaving the office.

Internship

Well this week had more work for me to do than the first week. Ok so I have to do a project and that is to find any donations that someone would give to this organization. I am doing really good in this part because I all ready got someone to donate books. He's called the Bookman. He was a really nice gentle man who cared about our organization. I was glad he cared. So I got about 100 and something books and now I need to find a place where they can donate school supplies. Anyways today we are going to go and donate some college level reading books to some lady. Well so far everything is going great.

3rd day of internship

Well today was a short day. Today when I got there, there was only one person there because there was no tutoring today. But I sure did a lot done. Okay so one of the staff members is leaving this month and I am helping her filing paper and help her stay on track so that she won't get stressed out. So far this first week went by fast, but I'm pretty sure that next week is going to be busy and I am going to learn more, on my project and the experience in working in an office and helping others.

First day of internship

Well today seemed like a long day. Once I got there to my internship I saw my mentor. She told me I would be sitting at the staff meeting. I thought there were going to be a lot of people. I was can of scared, but there wasn't a lot of people. There was my mentor, 2 other staff members, and me. There is only 2 staff members because this is an non- profit company. After that we went to work. First my mentor, Julie told me what project I would be doing. I am going to search for different companies that would donate to Up Lift and support this program. This project will help me because as you all known I am a shy person and in this project I would have to communicate with people who I don't know. Up Lift is a tutoring site and kids from different ages come and they get help. These tutoring sites are in different places so sometimes we would go visit different one. Like today I went to go visit one, but did not help any kids because there was hardly any kids. After I came back from this I helped my mentor file some papers that she had so she wouldn't be more stressed out because here at Up Lift there is a lot of paper work. Well that how my day went.
